DESCRIPTION:MN VR and HCI monthly meeting for May 2026: Philip Noyed and Zach Chapman present Neo Art Space: An Immersive Art Odyssey\n\n\nNeo Art Space: An Immersive Art Odyssey – Philip Noyed and Zach Chapman \nStep inside Neo Art Space—a cinematic VR journey through a galaxy of light. \nIn this presentation\, multimedia artist Philip Noyed will discuss the evolution of the project from experimental immersive artwork to a cross-platform VR experience\, including the transition from controller-based interaction to the development of the controller-free LightShip ride. \nUnity developer Zach Chapman will share insights into the technical development process in Unity and optimizing for for both SteamVR and Meta Quest platforms. \nVR headsets will be available for attendees to experience Neo Art Space. Members are working on projects with custom displays and lenses\, projection mapping\, mocap\, tiny computers\, servos and sensors\, interactive art and a wide variety of VR\, AR\, motion and computer vision applications. If you’ve only been to our parent group IGDATC meetings\, MN VR and HCI is a slightly different format: We aim for smaller group discussions and lots of specific details.
