Thank you for your interest in TechTown Detroit’s Catalyst Angel Program, Minnesota Cohort organized by Groove Investment Group & Forge North. Here is the rundown of everything you need to know:
Who is Eligible:
– Minnesota residents who identify as Black, Latinx, and/or women
– Less than two years of investing experience
– An Accredited Investor
What:
6 virtual courses all about angel investing (all expenses paid), 2+ in-person MN cohort events, Angel Capital Association individual membership, and more.
When:
September 1:- Deadline to apply to the MN cohort
September 13 to October 25: “Angel University” virtual courses
September 21: in-person Investor Rally & Cohort Kickoff
November (TBD): in-person Happy Hour & Graduation
Why:
To build knowledge of angel investing and ensure more underrepresented investors are welcomed to the table

Q: Is there a cost associated with this program?
A: No! This program is funded by a federal grant.
Q: What is an accredited investor?
A: SEC’s definition includes any one of the below:
$200,000 of income individually (or $300,000 combined with your spouse),
Net worth of $1,000,000 or more (not including primary residence) or
Professional certifications, designations, or other credentials issued by an accredited educational institution, such as Series 7, Series 65, and Series 82 licenses.
Q: What if I am unable to make a meeting?
A: All meetings will be recorded to refer back to later or in case you miss a meeting.
