Best Buy Co., Inc. has an opening working for and based out of its corporate headquarters as a Engineering Manager.

Coordinate buildout and management of engineering team. Lead delivery of complex solutions and participate in creation and presentation of technical designs. Actively participate in planning and perform code and architecture reviews of the product for which the team is responsible. Drive trade-offs in decision making on solutions. Partner with product owner to ensure requirements are clearly defined. Lead effort to turn requirements into technical specifications. Set project schedule with product team. Influence technical peers outside the team or project in some areas, such as introducing new frameworks and patterns. Focus on internally influencing team by focusing on building management skills, practicing soft skills to influence outcomes, having difficult conversations with staff, and aligning different personalities to the same set of team goals. Ensure team members are active in their growth and development plans. Direct daily operations of department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines. Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems. Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activity. Assign and review the work of systems analysts, programmers, and other computer-related workers. Provide users with technical support for computer problems. Develop computer information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery. Stay abreast of advances in technology. Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements. Develop and interpret organizational goals, policies, and procedures. Evaluate the organization’s technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades. Review and approve all systems charts and programs prior to their implementation. Prepare and review operational reports or project progress reports. Evaluate data processing proposals to assess project feasibility and requirements.

Full Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent foreign degree in Biotechnology, or a related technical field, plus five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience with: testing methodology, User Acceptance Testing, User Story Building, Oracle applications, coordinating a team in agile software delivery, managing relationships with stakeholders, and assisting users in executing tests cases.
