This position is directly responsible for strategically devising, configuring, operating, and maintaining both computer and networking systems for the organization. The successful candidate will be able to objectively analyze desired processes and outcomes and advise on the right combination of IT systems and components to achieve specific business, department, and team, goals while unifying the entirety of Dedicated’s technology infrastructure.
The Systems Architect will be a key player on the IT team and partner with business units on strategic thinking, process development, and problem solving. This role will also require providing mentorship of others on our IT team.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Responsible for designing, mapping, optimizing, and implementing new and established enterprise infrastructure
• Support complex, multi-platform computer systems and applications that support the program area applications and business area applications
• Eliminate / Minimize “downtime”
• Diagnose complex issues and resolve them on demand
• Analyze and understand software, hardware, and user interactions, integrations, interfaces and limitations to provide architecture for the most suitable solutions
• Help select and implement technology solutions for business requirements
• Anticipate emerging technologies and capabilities in order to prepare and respond to customer needs and expectations to achieve Dedicated’s business objectives
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Requires strategic thinking, critical problem solving, and business partnering while having an appreciation for and participation in the tactical work.
• Experience providing mentorship and leadership to novice systems engineers
• Experience in development and implementation of Strategic Technology roadmaps
• Familiarity and expertise in a variety of programs and how they interact with one another
• Experience in developing and articulating effective technology reference architecture models
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Above-average analytical, conceptual and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to see and communicate the big picture goals related to best practice for enterprise IT infrastructure
• Ability to adapt and pivot when needed
• Possess strong diagnostic, assessment, and decision-making skills
• Must have a track record of creating and implementing, innovative, and effective Information Systems
• Demonstrated ability to accelerate the rate of change in shaping a high-performance system
• Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
• Must be able to utilize various tools each day.
• Must be knowledgeable about the following: Computer Servers, Network Switches, SQLServer, working knowledge of domain, logical, relational, and document data modeling at enterprise level or on large projects
• Experience in BI and reporting technologies
• Bachelors degree in in information technology, computer science, or related field is recommended or equivalent experience and certifications
• Demonstrated drive to achieve advanced certifications highly preferred. (CTA, CIS, CMA, RHCA, TOGAF9, CCAr, etc)
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience is preferred
• Ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of:
○ Building IT infrastructure at a high-growth company
○ Building strong mutually beneficial relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology leadership, and external service providers
○ Experience with Change Management methodologies, ability to positively implement change and inspire teammates.
○ Familiarity with TOGAF, Zachman, or related industry standard architecture methodology frameworks
○ Familiarity relative to CISSP (or higher) Security standards to align with Dedicated’s business strategy and deliverables
○ Versatility and adaptability to transition seamlessly from a strategic level to day-to-day tactical when needed.
• Professional office environment. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 25lbs and work over head periodically.
• Minimal travel required (<5%)
