Job Summary
*This position is temporary and includes full state fringe benefits; it Is currently anticipated to last for up to two years.
As an IT Quality Assurance Analyst at Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) for the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), you will provide professional knowledge and skills in information systems software testing, quality assurance, and quality control of application software and systems. You will promote appropriate testing methodologies, involving automated testing, and striving to identify/manage defects in the software systems.
This position is currently eligible for full-time telework:

Telework for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Only candidates located in Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) are telework eligible.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume.
This position requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in performing IT quality analysis functions.
Experience must include the following:

Creating business-relevant test cases, test plans, automated scripting with Selenium or comparable industry recognized tool.

Main Quality Control on project.
-
Coordinating test schedules and/or assisting in management of progress of all test activities against the test plan.

Executing/assisting in the execution of functional testing, project regression testing tasks, and user acceptance testing/tracking.

Analyze & report overall test status/results and create data/reporting queries such as SQL.

Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
-
Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
A master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR a related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR a related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Intermediate level experience in manual testing and foundational experience in automated testing with the ability to execute test scripts in Selenium using Java.

Experience in assisting in the performance of risk analysis at the project management or release level.

Experience with manual and automated scripts.

Proven success working on at least moderately complex/sized projects.

Ability to communicate clearly in writing/orally, present complex information to users in a comprehensive style, and translate technical and system information for non-technical stakeholders.

Proven ability to collaborate & work effectively as part of a team, and successfully working on a project as part of a group.

Ability to organize, prioritize multiple deadlines, and work independently to define problems as they arise, and to recommend alternative solutions.
