CLA, one of the nation’s largest public accounting and professional services firm is currently seeking a Security Architect in our growing Enterprise Business Solutions team.

 

Position Summary

The IT Security Services Architect works closely with the Director of IT Security Services to build a holistic view of the overall security posture for the firm. The focus of the position is to own the creation, endorsement, and utilization of technical best practice security architecture that guides the Firm through securing acquisition, building, modifying, and interfacing IT resources throughout the organization with a strong emphasis on secure application development. The IT Security Services Architect will be a hands-on position. The IT Security Services Architect supports the Security Analysts by creating and assisting in the implementation of best practice documents, security architecture drawings, providing level 4 support, and managing Technical Projects that span across all IT teams.

Business Solutions:

The IT Security Services Architect acts as the fulcrum between Business Analysts, Technical Leads, and Enterprise Architects on strategic mission critical IT projects and is senior to both in terms of decisioning.

The Security Architect will review project documentation, research, and reference security policy, render recommendations and guidance, approve, or reject project artifacts from a security perspective, and perform other tasks in the pursuit of securing systems, processes, and software applications.

The IT Security Services Architect interfaces with IT Leadership and Business Relationship Managers to understand, design, and improve cybersecurity as it relates to IT security and various CLA Service Lines. They must be able to communicate effectively to target audiences across both the business and technical stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging. They guide the project managers in the creation and documentation of project requirements while ensuring the secure design principles are met.

The IT Security Services Architect works with the CLA technical teams to forecast and roadmap technologies, developing strategic plans from which security standards can be established and enforced. Assess requirements and translate them into secure system guidelines and high-level technical requirements.

 

Technical Team Initiatives:

You will guide and counsel technical teams performing implementation activities, and review implementation outcomes, to ensure secure design compliance.

The Security Architect will help develop and drive policies and procedures through involvement in the Firm’s Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile processes and ensure all applications and services are built and sustained with security and compliance by design. Understanding of network and web protocols, along with some proficiency in application programming.

The Security Architect will also be familiar with and guide application development teams with dynamic and static analysis tools. Other responsibilities include validating controls for Encryption, Access Control, Web Application Vulnerability Detection, adherence to CLA selected cybersecurity frameworks, OWASP top 10 and other common web application security parameters. Provide peer review of technology initiatives. Create documentation around security initiatives as required.

 

As our ideal candidate, you have:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required or Associate degree plus three years of related cybersecurity experience acceptable in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.

4+ years of general IT experience required, 2 of which are with security of IT systems and security design/strategy.
