Be The Match is looking for a Senior Data Quality Analyst to join our team. This role will report to the Manager, Data Governance & Services and will be instrumental in supporting the organization to achieve its five-year strategy. As the Senior Data Quality Analyst, you will collaborate with business and information technology partners to ensure that data meets enterprise data standards for consumption, reducing or eliminating data defects. As a vital member of the Be The Match team, your role will involve leveraging cutting-edge technology, streamlining processes, and advance data quality rules to enhance the quality of our data assets.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provides thought leadership and develops strategies to increase data quality of critical data domain areas throughout the organization
  • Evaluates, monitors, and maintains the integrity of critical data assets (e.g., patient, business party, product, and services)
  • Develop and execute data quality checks and audits to identify and resolve data quality issues, and establish a closed loop business process
  • Build and deploy data quality health dashboards and other tools to communicate data quality issues
  • Partners closely with a variety of stakeholders to identify and resolve data quality issues
    • Business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and identify any potential data quality issues that may arise.
    • Develop and implement effective data quality management strategies, including monitoring and auditing data, to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
    • Data Governance Architects to lead and execute cross functional data governance and steward committees; identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to enhance data quality
    • Technology stakeholders to advocate and influence the resolution of systemic issues resulting in poor data quality.
    • Product Development project teams to provide data quality expertise and help to ensure SDLC processes incorporate sufficient data quality validation within test plans; at times participates in the testing process
  • Promote and champion the business need and value of data quality; create education materials and facilitate cross-functional dialogue to build awareness and stakeholder engagement
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased automation to drive efficiencies – prepare justification and provide leadership to help implement
  • Provide input and participate in vendor selection efforts – may take a leadership role on technology project efforts
  • Mentor and provide informal work direction to junior level data quality analysts as well as data quality/steward resources across the organization

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of:

  • Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft office software (specifically Excel), SQL, SAS, R, or Python
  • Experience writing queries (SQL) and experience with large data sets and complex integrated systems – strong knowledge of databases and spreadsheets.
  • Data Visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker a plus
  • Data Quality and Observability tools such as Collibra is a plus

 

Ability to:

  • Possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions independently while keeping team members informed of progress.
  • Self-motivated individual who can work independently and demonstrate a high level of initiative in identifying areas of focus without the need for constant direction.
  • Grasp the diversity of our systems and network and the ability to make recommendations and implement solutions
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Well- developed interpersonal skills dealing with people of different cultures and styles
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to explain complex data quality issues in a way that is understandable to the business.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical, problem solving with a strong customer focus
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously

 

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Finance, or other quantitative disciplines. However, upon evaluation, equivalent related experience and/or education may be substituted for degree requirement.
  • A minimum of 8 years professional hands-on experience working in data governance, specifically focused on identifying/resolving data quality issues.
