Structural Senior Software Engineer, Back-End


Role: Senior Software Engineer

Role type: Full-Time

Reports to: Director of Engineering

About the opportunity

Structural is a dynamic tech startup, groundbreaking new ways to use data to unleash the potential of people and teams. We’re looking for an experienced React Software Engineer, with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and prioritization capabilities, to join our team. In this role, you will help build the future of Structural.

Expectations of the Role

  • You will lead the development of new features and ongoing maintenance and infrastructure upgrades in our web server and associated services
  • You will research and plan for ongoing improvements to the libraries and technologies in use
  • You will establish best practices around testing, performance, and application security
  • You will support the other back-end engineers and collaborate with the product and front-end development teams


  • You have experience writing code in a production environment developing modern web applications
  • You have experience with unit-testing
  • You’re familiar with modern Javascript (we use Javascript on both the client and the server)
  • You have experience with Node, MongoDB, Typescript, and GraphQL

Tech Stack

  • We run an Express Node.js deployment
  • We run most services in the AWS ecosystem (making use of ECS, Fargate, S3, and others)
  • We use Typescript on both the web and server
  • We use the Apollo GraphQL framework and MongoDB/Elasticsearch databases.
