Amazon

Passionate about solving hard problems at massive scale? Want to help Amazon achieve the trifecta of delivery speed, low costs, and great reliability? Here’s an opportunity to transform how Amazon moves packages through its network by optimizing and automating our Transportation operations. Our organization is implementing complex sortation, robotic interfaces, guided associate workflows, flow optimization engines, machine learning algorithms, and more to accelerate package delivery and generate savings for a billion dollar plus operating spend.

We are breaking ground on a whole new set of software services aimed at further automating package sortation in some exciting ways. Our mission is to build the most efficient and optimal transportation system on the planet using our engineering muscle as our biggest advantage.

You will get to work on key initiatives to support Amazon’s rapid growth and in the process tackle and solve some challenging and rewarding problems. Solving these problems will range from creating scrappy prototypes to test out new ideas to creating highly scalable and performant systems at an “Amazon Scale” and rolling them out globally. As a Software Development Engineer on the team, you will take ownership over the software design, documentation, development, engineering approach, delivery and support of our software solutions.

In this role you will:

  • Write high-quality, efficient, testable code in Java and other object-oriented languages.
  • Build highly available, secure, distributed systems in a microservices architecture.
  • Collaborate with some of the best engineers in the industry to work on complex challenges in large-scale computing and find out what it takes to engineer systems for “Amazon Scale”
  • Own and operate the systems that you build based on real-time customer data and demanding service-level agreements.
  • Contribute and drive planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvement as a member of an Agile team.
