The MNIT MDH team provides services for over 250+ applications and delivers the information technology to drive one of the leading public health systems in the nation. You will support an agency that works to protect, maintain, and improve the health of all Minnesotans.
Job Summary
As a Supervisor of Specialized Operations at Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) you will lead in a fast paced ever-evolving environment where your creative solutions are not only appreciated but encouraged. You will serve as a technical expert and IT team leader for project management functions. You will partner with MDH to transform applications and processes that take full advantage of Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure to support the agency mission of improving and protecting the health of all Minnesotans. In coordination with MNIT and MDH leadership, you will establish IT goals, objectives, strategies, and work plans. An example of the work you will be doing can be seen in this Video featuring your future teammates. You will lead the development of standards and methodologies and contribute to project portfolio management activities. You will supervise and contribute to the planning, design, and testing of advanced applications and information technology systems at MDH. In coordination with MNIT leadership, division leadership and section managers, you will oversee the establishment of system requirements, application functional requirements, conceptual system designs, testing plans, and other project artifacts. Telework for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Only candidates located in Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) are telework eligible.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must clearly demonstrate these qualifications in their resume:
Position requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a senior level IT operations or IT support role.
Experience must include the following:

Knowledge of public Cloud services (AWS and Azure) sufficient to participate in technical design projects.

Significant Experience working with AWS services and utilities, such as S3, Route53, EC2, ECR and/or RDS

Working knowledge of the following operating systems:

Windows Server
-
Linux
-

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a leadership position with demonstrated skills and/or experience providing leadership to other IT professionals or peers (Lead worker or Supervisor). Demonstrated knowledge includes items such as: participating in projects; facilitation of meetings; development of technical documentation; and presentation of operational reports to all levels of an organization.

Experience and abilities in researching, identifying, and implementing patches, upgrades, and new technologies.

Excellent human relations and collaboration skills to effectively lead and work with individuals and work teams.

Understanding of network addressing standards and administration.

Knowledge of monitoring, logging and patching tools.

knowledge of IT infrastructure security industry best practices, trends, and resources.

Experience with formal change management tools and processes.
