We are excited to announce the presenters for Minnedemo42, taking place Thursday, October 1 at the Ordway in St. Paul!

Minnedemo is Minnesota’s premiere tech show and tell: 7 presenters, 7 minutes each, real working MN-made technology and no slides! Join us in celebrating all that our local tech community has to offer with food, drinks, networking and fun new tech.

Doors open at 5:30pm, show starts at 7pm. Get your tickets HERE.

🥁 Drumroll, please… meet your Minnedemo42 presenters!

BeastBox: Your Mouth Is the Drum Kit

Beatbox into a mic, and real drums come out. BeastBox is a desktop instrument that turns your voice into a playable drum kit using a neural network trained on beatboxing and audio engineering tuned for speed. Sean Hobin built it over nights and weekends, and at Minnedemo he’ll debut the full app live on the Ordway stage — multiple kits, multiple genres, zero drum machines.

Gutchx: Catch the Catfish

Six months ago, Lori Ryan couldn’t connect an API. Then her friend Arun Batchu introduced her to Claude Code and GitHub — and six months later, she’s built Gutchx, a trust-verification tool inspired by a dating scam. At Minnedemo, Lori and Arun will show what happens when someone who never called herself a developer builds real software with AI — and why the experience has made her even more convinced that human judgment matters.

Presenters: Lori Ryan + Arun Batchu

Watt Window: See Your Energy Costs

What does it actually cost to keep a factory running — down to each motor? Watt Window turns millions of industrial data points into the handful of insights that matter. Charlie Murray will walk through the platform running across a real ammonia refrigeration and boiler plant, showing energy costs and carbon across an entire fleet of motors — then how the same data can flag something like a failing bearing before it becomes a surprise outage. It’s industrial-scale data made useful, without ripping out the equipment already running.

🛠️ Built with: Eaton, Wago, Banner + Trumeter industrial hardware, Python, CoDeSys, React, AWS + custom monitoring systems

Haflad: Making Events Easier to Run

Selling tickets is only one piece of running an event. Vendors, booth payments, check-in, texts, emails and spreadsheets quickly become the rest. Chris Minoko built Haflad to bring all of those moving pieces together in one platform. At Minnedemo, he’ll run it live — from buying a ticket to collecting payment, watching revenue update and communicating with attendees. It’s already powering real events, and we’ll get a look under the hood at the tech making them easier to run.

Sovereign Software Factory: Powered by Hermes

What does a software engineering team look like when some of the engineers are AI agents? Drawing on a military intelligence perspective, Sage Faraday will show Rosenblatt’s “software factory” in action — using agents to plan, build and review real engineering work. And there’s a twist: every tool and model in the stack is open source. It’s a live look at multi-agent software development and a provocative question about where software engineering goes next.

WhereHowSpace: Leveraging Data to Generate Feasible Warehouse Layouts

One of the most important questions in warehousing sounds simple: Will it fit? WhereHowSpace uses inventory data, operating rules and real building constraints to generate storage capacity and feasible warehouse layouts in minutes. At Minnedemo, Koy Payne will build one live — turning operational data into an interactive 2D and 3D warehouse you can explore.

🛠️ Built with: Python, Flask, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Three.js + a custom warehouse optimization engine

SnekLab: Bringing Game Ideas to Life

Scott Bromander has been designing games since he was a kid — and after 20 years in tech, he’s lost count of how many brilliant people have told him, “I have a game idea!” but never got to play it. SnekLab is built to change that. At Minnedemo, Scott will show how AI can help turn an idea into a playable prototype, complete with visual worlds, characters, audio, 3D assets and more. His case: what if anyone with an idea could actually build their game?
