Minneapolis, MN – Minnestar, the nonprofit dedicated to fostering Minnesota’s technology and entrepreneurial ecosystem, is excited to announce Meg Steuer as its new executive director. Meg brings extensive experience in community building, scaling initiatives, and fostering innovation.

Since moving to Minnesota in 2014, Meg has made a significant impact in the community through her work with organizations like GREATER MSP, Forge North, BETA, Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation, and the Small Business Development Center. Her passion for building vibrant ecosystems aligns with Minnestar’s mission to bring technologists, entrepreneurs, and innovators together.

“Meg’s passion for connecting people, championing innovation, and driving inclusive economic growth makes her the ideal leader for Minnestar’s next chapter,” said Minnestar Board Chair Eve Poeschl. “We’re thrilled to have her at the helm as we continue to grow and evolve.”

Reflecting on her journey with Minnestar, Steuer shared:

“Minnestar was one of the first communities to welcome me into Minnesota’s tech scene. It introduced me to incredible technologists, entrepreneurs, and community leaders shaping the region’s future. As executive director, I’m excited to help even more people forge connections, share ideas, and find the support they need to build, grow, and thrive in Minnesota.”

Meg is already making big moves—starting with securing the date for Minnebar19, Minnesota’s largest grassroots tech unconference, happening May 3, 2025, at Best Buy HQ. Minnebar is a staple of the local tech scene, bringing together technologists, entrepreneurs, and creatives for a day of learning, networking, and collaboration. Tickets go live March 27th and anyone can submit a session (that means you!) – keep an eye on social or signup for our newsletter to make sure you get all the updates.
