This position serves our partners at the Department of Corrections (DOC). The MNIT DOC team runs many unique applications that manage the information and security of the department, supporting 4,500 employees across 10 prisons and 50 field offices located throughout the state.

Job Summary
As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for working with stakeholders to contribute to the roadmap and implementation of the required infrastructure using infrastructure as code practices, and define policies and cloud usage guidelines. This position should bring expertise in the execution of cloud migration, implementation and maintenance of IaC within an organization, and knowledge of the appropriate use of different cloud capabilities for different use cases. The ideal candidate would have experience using both public and government cloud implementations. This position also requires knowledge of on-premises infrastructure and how to effectively modernize to enhance cloud migrations.

This position requires an employee to be onsite at the work location 2 days per week.

Telework for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies St Paul, Minnesota.
Only candidates located in Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) are telework eligible.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

Position requires a minimum of five (5) years of leadership in designing and supporting an Azure cloud environment including IaaS and PaaS, in both Cloud and hybrid Cloud/On-Premises environments.

Experience must include:

Experience using infrastructure as code and configuration as code tool and maintaining that code in source control (GitLab preferred).
Experience deploying enterprise workloads to cloud, including working with a continuous deployment tool (Octopus Deploy preferred).
Expert level proficiency with Azure CLI/PowerShell or equivalent scripting languages.
Experience with infrastructure and application monitoring tools.
Experience with cloud network security tools, preferably with a zero trust mindset.
Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
*A master’s degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Azure Certification (AZ-104, AZ-304, or equivalent).
Experience with development languages (C#, JavaScript, Python, or Java preferred).
Experience working with a container technology.
Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery planning experience in the Cloud and Hybrid Cloud/On-Prem.
Knowledge of more than one cloud hosting solution 7. Experience with DevSecOps with a Everything as Code mindset, including incorporating security into cloud environments and practices.
Experience with configuration, development, and management of Cloud security policies and frameworks, Cloud network configuration, Cloud identity management frameworks, IAC tools for provisioning, configuration management, and automation, configuration management systems such as Ansible.
Experience working with Agile teams, specifically Scrum and Kanban
